Meet the team

This time the team is divided into two Land Rovers. Your typical family - Julia, Stanley, Eowyn and Senna - will be driving Red Land Rover. Niels will drive Elise (an "Elise" blue Land Rover).

Julia

Julia was born in Minneapolis, United States of America, on 10 September 1970. She lived and traveled through Asia, the Middle East and Africa for over 10 years, particularly in Zambia and Kenya. Her inherited organizational skills and human insights resulted in the successful completion of the first trip. Her writing skills contributed to the excellent descriptions of all the encountered adventures.

Stanley

Stanley, born on April 12th 1972 in Malden, the Netherlands, started his travels in 1996 in Thailand and, subsequently lived and traveled in Asia, the Middle East and various East and Southern African countries, including Rwanda and Kenya. As a (non-clinical) medical doctor with no apparent knowledge of car mechanics he was darn lucky the trip was completed without major incidences.

Eowyn

Eowyn, aged 4 years, unknowingly consented to participate in the first Naughty Lamp Lighters road trip. Born in Ghent, Belgium, on March 7th 2006 and raised in Mombasa, Kenya, she obtained extensive travel experience before the age of two to places like the United States, China and the Seychelles. Together with her active, happy and easy-to-handle behavior she is the perfect travel mate.

Senna

Born in 2009, the youngest Naughty Lamp Lighter, Senna will get a fast introduction to world cultures during the 2010 expedition.

Niels

Niels, born on 14 October 1978 in Malden, The Netherlands, obtained experience in traveling through his various bicycle trips to Morocco and Belgium, tours in the Alps and road trips through Uganda and Kenya. His talent and interest in animal and scenery photography have matured over the years and largely contributed to this site.
